Location

I took this photo at a nearby dam. All three of my daughters together and it just turned out to be my favorite photo I've taken.

Time

Evening around 630-7pm

Lighting

My favorite time of day to shoot is after 6pm. The natural lighting is usually so amazingly beautiful.

Equipment

I used my old camera a Nikon D3300 with the 18-55mm Nikkor kit lens. I have upgraded since but was shocked to get this shot out of the kit lens.

Inspiration

I was taking fall pictures of my daughters and loved the scenery and thought it would be a pretty shot.

Editing

I used Lightroom and aged it a bit.

In my camera bag

Now I carry a Nikon D5300 with the Nikkor 50mm F 1.8G lens, my kit lens 18-55mm, a Tamron 70-300mm, an external flash, and filters.

Feedback

Keeping your subjects close together and as natural as possible. Evening hours past 6pm are best to capture this type of lighting.
