This beautifully crafted house was reportedly built by Andrew Anderson in the early 1890's. It takes its name from the Gray family who lived in the home from around 1910 to 1930. Sims was established by Scandinavian immigrants who homesteaded this area of North Dakota and it's economy relied on the nearby coal mine and brick factory which both went belly up in the 30's. The Gray House is one of three buildings left standing in Sims today. In addition to this house, there is the Sims Lutheran Church, which has an active congregation and the church parsonage which is said to be haunted by none other than "the Gray Lady of Sims".
