I took the photo on a tram in Milan. I have been to the city twice and loved it. Generally Italy is very easy on the eye, and it is hard not to fall in love with all the small streets and excellent coffee for next to nothing. For the most part we just walked around when we were there, but after a while you need to take a break so you don't wear yourself out, luckily Milan is covered in both buses, trams and a very well functioning subway.Time
I am not sure exactly what time the photo was taken, but I think it was sometime during the day when we were making it in towards the center of town. There were quite a few people on the tram and this guy caught my eye as I thought he blended it really well with the old and rustic looking bench on the tram.Lighting
I don't think there is too much to be said about the lighting. It was all natural light coming into the tram from the outside which lit the subject pretty nicely.Equipment
I shot the image with a Fuji X100T which is absolutely phenomenal for street photography. It has a fixed 35mm equivalent lens, and can be set to use a mechanical shutter, which coupled with a silent mode on the camera makes it almost entirely silent.Inspiration
I love shooting the people of the cities I visit, and while there are a lot of beautiful buildings in Milan and Italy generally, I feel like the people tell more of a story. The color of this gentleman's jacket paired with the interior of the tram just seemed like a really nice mix.Editing
It was a while ago I took the image, so honestly I can't remember what I did. I process my images in Lightroom and I don't think I did anything dramatic to this image beyond the normal adjustments. In my camera bag
The last couple of trips I have been on I have only had a Fuji X100T on me which has been awesome. It's a perfect camera for cities, and while it sometimes feels a bit limiting due to the fixed lens, it handles like an absolute dream, and its light weight makes it so easy to carry around all day without becoming a nuisance.Feedback
Shoot shoot shoot! I had a hard time getting in to street photography, so honestly it is just about getting used to it which only happens from trying it out.
