In work I could hear the odd rumble but as I work on a port I am used to these noises & I thought it was some of the lads outside moving freight trailers around. It was only when the girlfriend messaged me to say are you watching the lightning I realized what I was missing. Grabbing the tripod and camera bag I legged it up the office stairs & set the camera up & plugged the shutter cable in. My office phone started ringing so I had no time to play with the camera settings and left the camera to shoot on its own hoping I would get some ok images & the storm hadn't past. I couldn't wait to get home & check my memory card. Out of some 600 pictures I managed to capture lightning on 4 of them.
