The Baba Nyonya, or as the local's tend to refer to as The Peranakan-s are a mixture culture born out of the wedding of native Malay women to the Chinese Traders sometime in the early 16th century. Due to British rule at the time, the interior architecture of most of these Peranakan houses tend to assimilate essences of British, Chinese, and Malay motives and designs.
