Location
This picture was taken on a private reserve in the Nort West Province,South AfricaTime
The picture was taken at a reasonably unproductive time of day.it was at 14:21 in mid summer.Lighting
I travelled around the reserve just looking at animals.the light was still very bright and flat with it being mid summer, hence why I started shooting motion blurs,as the springbok were quite activeEquipment
This was taken with a Canon 650D,(earlier days)f/32,exposure1/13sec,ISO 100.focal length was 150mm with a Tamron 150-600mm.This image was taken handheld,i shoot all motion blurs handheld,as I do enjoy the freedom panning without a tripod .no flash was usedInspiration
I enjoy motion blurs,as this adds a very nice and artistic touch to any portfolio. The animals were quite active and running past quite a few times when I decided to motion themEditing
Yes,I did do some minimal post-processing in Photoshop.I adjusted shadows/highlights,contrast and added a bit of sharpness to the imageIn my camera bag
Currently I am using a Canon 5d miii and a Canon 7d mii.I am still using both a Tamron and Sigma 150-600mm.I also use a Canon 18-55mm.Feedback
Capturing motion blur images are quite challenging when starting out.Panning by using a tripod will certainly help in panning smoothly.Though I shoot motion blurs hand held as I move with wildlife, setting up on a tripod can be beneficial.Play around with slower shutterspeed and depth of field.Different situations and lighting conditions will call for different settings.Practice and enjoy each moment
