This image was captured about 45 minutes before sunset at Cape Kiwanda near Pacific City on the Oregon northern Coast. It was captured using a slow shutter, a Singh Ray graduated neutral density filter, and a tripod with mirror up and a shutter release cable. Over 170 photos were taken in this series in order to capture 7 of waves crashing at the desired height. Nikon D700, 24-120 lens, ISO 100, 78mm, .4 sec, f-14, manual exposure, matrix metered.
