Behind The Lens

Location

My husband and I were going up to Hawks Ridge in Duluth Minnesota to take pictures of Eagles... BUT the Eagles, sad to say, were not flying that day!! BUT the Fall color was October Beautiful!

Time

Time was around 2:30 until 4:00 in the afternoon. It was a partly cloudy day with a Fall bite in the air!

Lighting

I went down a stone path and saw these FIRE FINGER Leaves(that is what I named them!)...the sun just came from behind the clouds and lit them up perfect !! I loved it!

Equipment

I use a Canon Rebel T3i. I LOVE THIS CAMERA !! My husband had just gotten me a Nifty Fifty lens so I was trying it out on the Fall colors! When I shoot, depending on where and what I am shooting of course....I use a variety of lens from my telephoto zoom to my most recent the pancake lens. The Aperture for this photo was f 5.6, ISO100, and 1/320 Exposure!

Inspiration

I love the beauty of GOD's Paintbrush in the Fall...I try to capture a feeling ...and emotion of the season....

Editing

For this photo there was not a lot of post processing that needed to be done.. My photo process choice is Lightroom...and I am still learning the in's and out's of the program!!! Many tutorials!! I have however acquired some BEAUTIFUL presets from Great Gatsby Collection,Morgan Burkes as well as Coles Classroom , Two Blooms and Trey's Lightroom Sets!! On this particular photo I did not need to do a lot of processing..I shoot JPEg... Post cropped vignette, very little red saturation, added slight radial filter and used Greater than Gatsby perfect and dainty mat!

In my camera bag

I normally carry a cleaning cloth, lens cleaner, extra charged battery, battery charger, external flash, my Canon Rebel T3i camera. Canon lens : telephoto zoom 55-250mm,Canon wide angle lens18-55mm, Canon Nifty 50 with Auto and manual focus, and Canon 40mm pancake lens with Auto and Manual focus. Pen, camera batteries,Canon manual and flashlight!~..WHEW! Heavy bag here!!

Feedback

You need to FEEL what you want to shoot..whether it is children, landscapes, animals..adults, street or band show photos... RAW emotion is what I look for... click and capture through my lens eye.. Then give others a chance to open my photo window ... peek into my visions of emotions..and travel through my photo journey!
