Thanks Gary, It was a beautiful morning made only better when I arrived at the pier and up above were these two amazing eagles perched for about an hour which allowed for many photos.

Location
I took this photo in my hometown, at a neighborhood fishing pier. The funny thing is I went all the way to Alaska in hopes of seeing some eagles in the wild but only saw one. Didn't know till a photo friend shared with me that all I had to do was drive 8 miles to Jenkin's Creek fishing pier and the chances of seeing an eagle were pretty good, since a male and a female were nesting there.Time
I got up real early to get this shot. crack of dawn and watched these two hanging out in the pine tree above while I set up my camera and tripod.Lighting
The morning was a bit misty and foggy, soft ambient light.Equipment
I set my Canon 5D mark 3 on my tripod and attached a 150-600 Tamron lens. I took a meter reading off my hand and I set my apperture to f8 and shutter speed to 1/125. My ISO was 800.Inspiration
Eagles are such beautiful birds. They make magnificent images..And seeing two when I was only hoping to see one was incredible. I have gone back to this location several times...but on this morning I got my best shots.Editing
I did minimal post processing to this shot. I did basic adjustments in camera raw to get it to look as I saw it. Then used a preset in Topaz Clarity called feathers to enhance the wings and feathers. I also adjusted the levels and cropped to add impact. In my camera bag
The equipment I ususally bring on a wildlife shot are my Canon 5D mark 3, a 70-200 canon L lens with a 2x converter, as well as a Tamron 150-600 lens. a flash, reflectors, and a cable release .Feedback
Patience is the best advice I can give to wildlife enthusiasts. Waiting and watching and learning about where to find certain animals. Do research on locations ..a friend of mine even has bird calls on his phone with a mini speaker that he uses to attract birds and wildlife. Shoot during the early morning and evening,. dress comfortably and don't over load yourself. If you are bringing more than one lens or camera use a wagon or good backpack to haul your equipment.
