I was excited to capture the aurora on a cold December night, I had just adjusted my ISO to catch the aurora and started my shot and I see this bright

The falls are an hours drive from Calgary, and easily accessible from the top but to get down below requires athletic skill and daring!

a chance visit to Forget-Me-Not Pond in Kananaskis Alberta proved to be the best location to shoot the fall Milky Way.

a pretty aurora but then there was this arc from east to west and here seen overhead. formerly called a "Proton arc" a cool aurora phenomena

the most impressive peak in the Kananaskis area of Alberta

a moonlight expedition hoping for the aurora and stars but we were smitten by the clouds

Taking a chance for clear skies the aurora put on a show at Forgetmenot pond on Nov 3

I was fortunate to attend a workshop at Camp Chief Hector in the Canadian Rockies and getting up for sunrise was no problem with this view!

The same day as I photographed the old abandoned house the aurora storm just kept going, and that night I saw this.

A plan to explore this pond based on observations from google earth, access requires athletic ability both climbing in and out, the reward was the fab
