Behind The Lens

Location

On the beach in Rocky Point Mexico. This is one of a series of shots taken with a group of juveniles that had overtaken the small boat. This one seemed quite pleased taking over as captain. I am always thrilled to get these shots I love that buzz cut look they have on the top of their heads.

Time

Sometime before noon. The boat had just come in from morning fishing and these little beggars were hanging out, fighting the gulls for scraps.

Lighting

I did nothing special I try to keep natural light when shooting flora or fauna.

Equipment

Just my cannon

Inspiration

watching a group of feathery little wanna be thugs, who keep slipping off the boat

Editing

cropping that is all

In my camera bag

it depends on what I am going for. I have several bags that hold different items, rain, wind, what I am aiming for. Each case holds the items needed.. save hunting them down to have them packed and ready. I usually travel with three different bags.

Feedback

I start with long shots then take a slow step forward until I see them alerting to me. I then stand still for a few moments and repeat As many times as it takes to get the close up I am looking for.. This can take several hours depending on the animal I am trying to capture.
