Location

At Bromo on Java, Indonesia.

Time

Around 5:30am, just at sunrise.

Lighting

Mother nature took care of that for me, and quite spectacularely.

Equipment

A Pentax K5 with a 16-45mm zoom lens.

Inspiration

The scenery was just too amazing. The carpet of fog in the caldera, the sun just coming up shedding the perfect light. That on top of the awe-inspiring beauty of the caldera to begin with left me no choice but to take many pictures that morning!

Editing

Nothing major, just slightly corrected exposure and contrast and a little bit of sharpening.

In my camera bag

Usually, when I am traveling I try to only take the camera, a wide-angle zoom (sometimes a super-wide one), a moderate telezoom (50-135mm) and maybe one or two prime lenses. Other than that pretty much only some polarizing and gray filters and occasionally a tripod, though that would not strictly be in my camera bag.

Feedback

The best advice I can give, is to walk the world with open eyes. Be it while traveling or just in your backyard, there is always opportunities for intresting photography. Taking many photos, learning the technical aspects of cameras has helped me the most.
