Behind The Lens

Location

Everything was shot in my small studio in Århus, Denmark

Time

Working in a dark studio makes it irrelevant when you shoot this kind of images.

Lighting

When compositioning images together it's a good idea to light the objects from the right directions, or else you'll have a problem when mixing it all together. It will not look realistic if the light source is from different directions

Equipment

A Nikon D800 and Elinchrome flashes and softboxes where used.

Inspiration

I had a strange idea with mermaids in an unusual setting. Also, I wanted to try still life. This is the result.

Editing

Everything was put together using Lightroom and Photoshop. Three images in total; the still life, the fish and the woman.

In my camera bag

I use three Nikons, D800E, D810 and D5. Sometimes a Godox flash.

Feedback

Have a great idea. Be careful with the lightning, the direction and the type (soft / harsh). Remember the importance of shadows.
