2013. We heard the thunder and jumped into the car. We got ahead of the storm not too far from our house in Escalon. As my husband waited in the car, I took long exposures waiting for lightning that never struck inside the frame of composition while the shutter was open. I may not have captured lightning, but I got beautiful light instead. There was a group of juvenile bulls in the pasture behind me. Every time I turned my back on them they crowded up to the fence, curious. I'd turn around when the shutter was open and quietly say, "Boo," and they'd turn and run and I'd laugh. We turned it into a game. Eventually, the storm caught up to us and we headed home.
