Sunset

Waking on the boardwalk I came across this peer at sunset and waited for the "second" sunset that happens after 20 min of the first

While shooting surfers this board washed up right in front of me.

Shot from across the bay

Strolling on the beach I came upon this pier just with enough time to set up my camera for the "second sunset"

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken by the beach in beautiful San Diego

Time

Searching for the perfect spot was a bit tricky but after a 30 min hike found it around 7:30pm

Lighting

Use a red flashlight so you can see what you are doing without dilated pupils

Equipment

Nikon D700, manfrotto carbon fiber tripod and 11-24 lens

Inspiration

I have always ranted to “paint” with lighting so this was a wonderful project

Editing

Cleaned up the sand on the lense but other than that not much.

In my camera bag

3 lenses, a flash, shutter release and a flash.
