I took this photo in our garden, San Jose, CATime
probably in the evening. I spend my evenings in the garden taking care of the garden, I look for all creatures smal and beautiful butterflies, birds , dragon flies etc. I have a love affair with humming birds. I grow flowering plants with bight red, orange flowers loaded with honey to attract he birds. Hummers love sucking honey from the flowers of Agave.Lighting
light in the evenings in our garden is perfect for making beautiful shots. I do not like to use flashEquipment
For this shot I used Olympus EPL5 with telephoto lens in sport mode. I always use tripod when taking pictures of birds. These tiny birds fly fast, That is why I use sport mode and telephoto lense. and remote controller.Inspiration
I love nature. Bird photography is my favorite. Humming birs are cute and colorful. it is a challenge to photograph them, they fly so fast and are very tiny.Editing
not much. just adjusted saturation, curve .In my camera bag
Nikkon cameras. D5500, D80, cool pix, olympus EPL5 , telephoto lenses, filters, lens cleaners , tripod etc.Feedback
It is not easy to get a good photo of tiny birds. You need patience. should take dozens of shots to get just one good shot. Take it from several angles using several modes. Do noit distract the birds. They should not be aware of your presence. be at a distance. That is the reason why one should use telephoto zoom lenses.
