Behind The Lens

Location

I took the photo at home, it's a self portrait taken with my Canon 600D using the kit lens.

Time

It was evening, but I closed the curtains and tried to make the shot a little bit more misterious.

Lighting

I chose for the light to come from above and a bit to the side so the photo would not look like it was taken from a horror movie.

Equipment

I used a tripod with a flash I recently bought, the camera I spoke abouth in the first question, the Canon 600D and the kit lens.

Inspiration

I've been inspired by the chiaroscuro style of paintings.

Editing

Yes, I did make some post-processing. The initial photo was taken in color and not so dark as it is now shown in the final image.

In my camera bag

Not much... Only the Canon 600D kit lens, a tripod, 2 Hoya filter lens, one black and one clear. And a 32Gb memory card for the camera with a flash.

Feedback

Try to help yourself by directing the light towards your objective and make it look more fresh but misty at the same time.
