At the foot of Mount Bromo, stations tens to hundreds of horses owned and trained by local Indonesians. Locals uses these friendly creatures as a taxi service provided to both tourists as well as their own locals.

The unfortunate part of this scene was that the horses were overworked. The horses have to take on people of weight from 20 to &bt;100kg up & down Mount Bromo. Horses were panting heavily and salivating excessively. It was a real sad truth of life, to both humans and animals.
