Behind The Lens

Location

Venice - Venezia Sestiere Cannaregio on the 8 April 2015

Time

16:38 (17:38 local)

Lighting

The late afternoon light in the Spring was perfect as it shone between the pink hued buildings along the canal and off the water. The moment was perfect to capture.

Equipment

iPhone 6 Plus @ 1/120, ISO 32.

Inspiration

The lighting was perfect plus it captures Venice in one photo: Beautiful buildings, canals, gondola and stunning colours everywhere.

Editing

Small amount of adjustment ten to lighting and colour using the standard tools in Apple's Photos app.

In my camera bag

Nikon D7100 and assorted lens plus my iPhone 6s Plus.

Feedback

Take many shots of the same subject but keep one. Explore different angles to see if the light is better for you, say if you're crouching or standing tall. Look at what's in the image - sounds obvious but many people just photo the subject matter without looking at what is happening in the background. And always watch the light.
