This is an almost fully developed cumulonimbus cloud. Eventually this cloud will rise to the point that the air is to dense for the cloud to grow any higher. At that point it will begin to flatten out and spread extending vertically. By that time the cloud has morphed into a thunderstorm or at least a rain shower!
