Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken in Colchester, in a wild spot surrounded by fields.

Time

We shooted in a sunset, one chilly evening of a British spring with breeze playing with a model's hair.

Lighting

I always prefer natural light and play around it. I only take the reflector/diffuser with me on the location.

Equipment

Nikon D800, Nikon Nikkor 85mm f/1.8 and an oval reflector.

Inspiration

I was walking in the area with my dog when I saw a milk white bloom standing like a wall. I stopped and looked at it and I knew the model I want to contact, the styling I want to do, the feeling I want to share...

Editing

I always say: an actual shoot is a half of an image. I 'paint' on my images with a passion and precision on Adobe Photoshop.

In my camera bag

On Location I normally have a Nikon D800 body, Nikon 50mm f/1.4 and 85mm f/1.4 and Sigma 20mm f/1.8 (which usually stays in the bag).

Feedback

Once I saw this beautiful place, I knew I have to act quick. Only a few days after the photoshoot all beauty was gone. Use the nature to express what is in your heart. If you feel overwhelmed with the beauty you see, share it with the world throughout your eyes, your lenses. The right model and the styling is extremely important. (It is a bit easier for me, as a fashion designer, the dress is from my own collection.) I am also lucky to have an amazing hair and mu team, I work with, who always fulfils my daydreams. Good team is a blessing for a beautiful shot.
