I waited for the sun to come over the hill and once it peaked i started shooting in aperture priority mode on f11 with an iso of about 640. by using the slightly higer iso it gave me a bit of noise for the fog to stand out. having it in aperture priority mode then set the exposure automatically for me at a speed of 1/160sec witch was just enough to let the light in without over exposing it. the reason i had such a fast shutter for this type of shot was because i was taking the shot hand held and not on a tripod for this shot.Equipment

I drove to Porepunkah near bright from Sorrento on the Friday after work and pitched my tent in a caravan park on the Friday night after about a 6 hour drive. I then woke up at 4.30am so I could make my way up the mountain (Mt Buffalo) so I could get some sunrise photo's at the peak of the mountain at The Horn. On my way up there because I didn't fill the tank up before I got to the caravan park the night before I was starting to get low on fuel and my car started chugging up the hill in some steeper areas of the mountain because I was getting that low, but when i got there I realized that from the top of the mountain there all I could see was the directions of south and west. The sun comes up in the east so i had to relocate myself somewhere else and I remembered driving past the lake on the way up so I drove back to the lake which is where I set myself up to take a few photos. I eventually got a few shots and made my way back down the hill very carefully as i knew I was low on fuel and made my way into bright where the nearest servo was. I got there (just) and filled up my car and some how put more petrol in my car than what the tank can hold. so in other words I didn't just fill my tank up i filled all the fuel lines up as well. but a lesson was learnt for next time I do a trip like that. Next time I will fill up at the servo on the highway before I get into town.Editing
Yes, I used photomatix pro to convert the single image to HDR then continued to process the image in photoshop Cs6 with the Topaz Adjust plugin and Noiseware pro to reduce any noise left in the photo. In my camera bag
