Behind The Lens
Location
In 2009 I was visiting the national Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. This photo is of the lighted, moving walkway leading from the gallery into the cafeteria where I had lunch.Time
I believe it was early afternoon.Lighting
What caught my attention was the creative way the gallery chose to light the otherwise drab walkway. .it reminded me of that "tunnel of light" so many speak of, which is why I shot it. The lighting is what makes the shot so appealing, I just happened to catch it in just the right way.Equipment
I used a a 5 megapixel Olympus to take this shotInspiration
The lightingEditing
I believe I did edit it on my ancient MAC ibookIn my camera bag
I always carry that old Olympus but I have upgraded to a 20.2 Megapixel Coolpix L340 and love itFeedback
Keep your eyes open. . . there's creative photo opps around every corner, just waiting to be recognized and captured. Shoot everything in every kind of light with whatever lens you have. . .I'm amazed at how many assumed "throw away" shots I've turned into artistic renderings, salvaged with good editing.
