For a while now I had wanted to shoot the milky way. Last night I decided to drive about a 100 kms away from my place to get minimum light pollution and as I was driving I came across this empty field with two trees and nothing else. This was exactly the image I had in mind when I started driving. So I pulled over and as my eyes settled to the darkness... I was awestruck with the clarity of the Milkyway and the sky.

Hi Tom thank you. For this shot I was standing on the side of the highway, so the foreground is actually lit by cars and trucks passing on the highway during the 30 seconds exposure. I clicked the shutter release button as soon as I saw that cars were coming on both sides. Here in Australia, we drive on the left side of the road, which again you can see if you look carefully at the grass, it's brighter on the left side than the right. The two trees however, were faintly lit by my torch.

Milky Way pictures always fascinate me. This one is beautifully framed and captured skillfully. Congratulations.
