Location
This photo was taken at the fireworks of 4th of July in 2012 at DAVIS, California.Time
After 9:00 pm. The fireworks started at 9:00 pm and last for 20 minutes. I took several pictures during that period. This is one of them.Lighting
At the fireworks, it is not that easy to get an appropriate location for taking pictures. I got chance to have a location closer to the area where they start lighting the fires. In the beginning it was dark, I was not able to catch any activities, but when the firing starts, there were plenty of light to see through my camera. I started clicking on.Equipment
I took this picture holding the camera in my hands. I laid on my back on the ground and start clicking. I used my canon EOS rebel T2i camera with a regular zoom lens 55-250 mm.Inspiration
Every year I used to go to watch the fireworks with my kids and family. I never tried to take pictures like this. This time I took my camera with me thinking of try some.Editing
Not really, just little cropping and sharpening. In my camera bag
I always carry my 50 mm prime, 24-105 mm 4L, and 55-250 zoom lenses, extra battery pack, extra SD cards.Feedback
In order to take a good picture of the fireworks, one should use the camera in burst mode (at least 3 shots at a time), find an appropriate location (no too close not too far) and wait for the moment.
