Location
This photograph was taken in Gatineau Park in Quebec, CanadaTime
This image was taken in very early morning when the ground was still just warming up.Lighting
Light was very dim, thankfully there was no wind and I was using my tripod. Using a higher ISO help capture the right amount of light that I wanted.Equipment
I used a Canon 6D with my 24-105mm f/4.0 IS USM and my Manfrotto Tripod.Inspiration
I simply love to explore Gatineau Park. So many awesome opportunities to capture nature and light. The rising fog was a definite plus that added to the scene. You can almost smell the forest. :-)Editing
This image was an HDR, so I combined 3 images using Nik Effex Pro and Photoshop CS6 for adjustments. In my camera bag
Looking for new landscape subjects I like to keep a long lens if I want to capture a specific part of a scene, however a wide angle is just as important. I use Polarizing filters on my lens, which really brings strong colours and a beautiful sky. My tripod is a must for me, I always have my tripod and use it in most situations as I like to take 3 to 5 images of any scene. Using digital I take advantage of cheap storage and capture the scene.Feedback
Move around and get close, move back and even look behind you. My other advice is to get to your location in advance to survey the scene I find what angles work best. The rule of thirds is a great tool.
