Location
This picture was taken at hotel in Moon Township, PA - about 20 minutes from Pittsburgh, PA.Time
The time of the shooting was between 10:30 and 12pm, on a cold Saturday of December 2014.Lighting
For this picture I used three different sources of light. There was a large window on Cory's right side (the right side being the arm with the tattoo) that was giving us some sort of soft light because it was a cloudy day, not the greatest natural light but it worked. I also used a very inexpensive continuous softbox lighting kit with 5 bulbs and 60Watts each, although I only used 3 lights. The softbox was positioned, or aiming diagonally, between Cory's shoulder and her face. I also used a mounted on camera YongNuo 560 II flash with the settings of 1/32 power, 50mm distance. And the flash was pointing right at her. All three light sources were equally distanced from the model, which was about 10 feet from all three directions.Equipment
The equipment I used was nothing fancy at all. Camera: Canon 60D Lens: Canon 85mm f/4 Flash: Yongnou 560 II ePhoto Premium Constant Lighting KitInspiration
I work with Cory a few nights out of the week, and if you get to know her you will realized that she is not serious at all, however, she can be very sexy. My goal was to take a picture that showed her as being serious, sexy, seductive, and yet, tasteful.Editing
The only post-processing I did with did picture was to increase the saturation to +25 on Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7. In my opinion, Cory had near perfect skin because nothing else was re-touched/edited for this or the other pictures from the same shoot. I also thought that I would have to manipulate the exposure because of the lighting sources but it turned out to be better left alone. In my camera bag
What's in my bag? I usually carry the following with me: Camera: Canon Rebel 3Ti Lens: Canon 18-135 kit lens Flash: Yongnou 560 II The Canon 60D is only used for serious shoots.Feedback
The only advice I can give other photographers is to play with different light sources and settings, whether they are used combined or used alone. And also, not to trust the screen on the camera because what you see in that little screen is not always always accurate. I thought that this picture was going to be a bad shot due to the different light sources and I almost deleted it, but I decided to wait until I saw the actual shot on my laptop.
