The wax palm is remarkable from several points of view . On one side is it great height, usually a wax palm adult reaches about 40 meters high , but it is known for exceptional specimens of up to 50 or 60 meters. This makes it the highest palm species in the world. Moreover, unlike most of the palm trees , palm wax has no home on the plains of hot weathers. It is one of the few species that venture into the mountains, where it can reach 3200 meters above sea level ... which is another record in the world of palms. Because of these special characteristics , the wax palm tree has been declared National Colombia Symbol and can be only found in Quindio Colombia.
