This would be one of my all time favourite ruins to photograph, it is on a back road between Beachport and Robe in South Australia and built of the beautiful Limestone blocks that are very common to the area, indeed South Australia in general. The story that I got from the present land owner was that the farmer had bought his prospective bride over from England, married her and a couple of weeks later he fell off his horse and died! She lived there until she died at a ripe old age (90 odd from memory). Today it is a haunting almost spooky scene and maybe her spirit rests in the tree as it seems to lovingly cradle the ruins of what was a much loved home.
