Behind The Lens

Location

In the environmental reserve of Lami, southern Brazil. I was riding a boat, aiming to photograph this beautiful place, which is not open for public access.

Time

It was a very hot and sunny day. Around 4 pm, the weather suddenly changed and a storm started to form.

Lighting

It was all very fast and the wind was redrawing the clouds every moment. Even though it was covered by clouds, the sun produced reflections in the water, which I really liked.

Equipment

Nikon D90 plus Af-p Dx Nikkor 18-55mm F / 3.5-5.

Inspiration

I loved the perspective that the dark clouds drew behind this little wild island, the whole scene looked like a piece of primitive nature. The dark color of the water, which is due to the presence of algae in this lake, also contributed to the tense atmosphere.

Editing

HDR filter in Lightroom, plus some tone adjustments, since I always shoot in Raw.

In my camera bag

My Nikon D90 with it's 18-105mm lens, plus a 70-210mm and a 10-55mm lens. And a tripod.
