Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my backyard. I'm always looking for the beauty in Nature.

Time

this is one my favorite images. This was taken in the late afternoon on a warm January day. I just happened to look out of my window into my garden when all of the sudden it started to snow and I just couldn't take my eyes off the shriveled up rose and falling snow.

Lighting

it was natural night late in the afternoon.

Equipment

this shot was taken with a Nikon D5100 with an 55-200mm lens, f/5, 1/640 and iso at 800. No flash and it was handheld

Inspiration

I just love the contrast with the fresh falling snow and the shriveled up dying roses. It just seems so beautiful and peaceful

Editing

I wasn't happy with the way it looked in colour so I converted it to black and white and instantly fell in love with it

In my camera bag

My Nikon D5100. My 55-200 and my 18-55 lens, a raynox macro filter along with a pad of paper ( to write down possible shooting locations) and a pen. A baggie for different effects along with my infrared, polarized and ND filters
