Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture in my living room. Princess is a teacup Poodle, and she had just come by for a visit. I took care of her a lot that year while her family traveled to their son's UMASS Hockey games. She was always excited to see me.

Time

It was in the afternoon.

Lighting

I used natural lighting from the windows in my living room.

Equipment

I took this shot with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20.

Inspiration

Princess loved me more than any other dog has. She always seemed to enjoy having her picture taken. She always looked adorable and had a great haircut. She was a very cuddly lap dog. She was better behaved than any dogs I had.

Editing

No, this photo has had no touch ups. I did post it on Twitter last week for #Nationaldogday and I cropped it then.

In my camera bag

Last month I bought a Nikon D7100. I have 2 lenses for it. I have an 18-55mm and a 55-300mm. I love having a zoom lens so that I can now get photos of birds and wildlife. I also look forward to taking more shots at the beach, since I live 5 minutes away from the shore.

Feedback

Choose moments when your pet is attentive and in the mood. Take many photos, and try many angles. I wish I had taken videos of Princess. She was a beauty in motion!
