Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at an empty field, 5 minutes away from my photography studio.

Time

This shot was taken in the late morning, around 11a.m.

Lighting

During this particular shot it was taken in the late morning. Hence the sun is quite high up and casting ugly shadows on the model. Luckily the light is still soft (a little cloudy during the day) but we had the model to chin up just slightly to minimise the ugly shadow from a high sun.

Equipment

Canon 5D MK II, 50mm hand held.

Inspiration

This shot was taken for an editorial. We wanted to capture fashion with color and candid moment in it.

Editing

We did some color treatment in photoshop as well as retouching on the model's skin.

In my camera bag

Canon 5D MK II, 24-70mm F2.8L, 70-200mm F2.8L, 50mm, USB cables, grey card, light meter.

Feedback

You could try to get the model to move around and capture unplanned moments. I prefer these natural movements rather than strictly posed shots.
