Location
The image was captured in our front yard in December 2002 in Sterling Virginia, USA.Time
It was captured in the morning hours, just before I left the house for work.Lighting
It was a cold and snowy day. The temps the previous day were a bit higher and some of the snow and ice started to melt on the tree. In the morning, everything was covered with ice and the white color sky made it easy to blend any image without any shadows.Equipment
Hand held my loyal Canon Powershot S400. It is a 4MP camera which I paid $400 for. I still have the camera and it is working.Inspiration
The ice was so clear. There was no snow on the tree.... I was surprised the tree was still standing with all the weight of the ice on it.Editing
None. I copped this image to isolate the cherries, but I refuse to edit my pictures. I have another shot of the whole tree. The contrast of the red and the white in the image were enough for me to take it and leave it. This image won a few awards as I started printing it on canvas. The latest award was 1st place at the Pima County Fair in 2016.In my camera bag
These days I have the Sony A6300 with me at all times in the car. I also carry a Canon 110HS in my pocket. I have other cameras and about 20 lenses, but each one has a purpose and I don't carry them all with me. The Sony is with me wherever I go.Feedback
