Good shot. I took a similar portrait with my mosin several years back and everyone told me off for closing an eye!

There is nothing wrong with closing one eye, what is important is practicing enough to keep the eye open during the shot to know where your aim was as the shot was taken. It is not as easy as it sounds, but the best way to know if your aim held true.
