The photo was taken during the late afternoon when the sun light would cast some shadow on the metallic beams.Lighting
The lighting was all natural. Luckily there were clouds in the sky to add texture to the photography. The lines overhead creates shadows with the lights to create asymmetric aspect of this symmetry.Equipment

I would say keep taking photos when you find things interesting. Challenge yourself with different position, sometimes they are unconventional but effective.
