Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my house in Florida, I'm a self though photographer so I was trying to change thing up a bit from the norm.

Time

This was a night after a long day at work, I came home and I was browsing Instagram and there was a contest for the most creative way to show your shoes and I decided to enter with this photo.

Lighting

The light wasn't that good because my living room is pretty dark I have to set the camera to a long exposure to be able to get the feel I wanted. I have to tell my daughter to stay still for a long time lol!!!!

Equipment

This was shot with a canon 7D and a tripod with a Tamron 28-75 2.8.

Inspiration

Like a stated in one of the other questions, I was browsing Instagram and saw a contest for the most creative way to show your shoe and decide to enter with this image. I'm a sneaker head too that's another reason.

Editing

Because this was 2 pictures combine to create one I had to use photoshop to put them together and make them look like it was just one and make it look natural.

In my camera bag

Because I'm a sport photographer first I always have in my bag my canon 70-200 2.8 L series. I have a Canon EX flash and a canon 50mm 1.8 for the portraits and for the landscape and other shots I have a canon 17-40 4.0L and a Tamron 28-75 2.8.

Feedback

I think the key to capture a photo like this one is to have fun, to think outside the box. Try to do something different, picture what you want to do and look for the way to make it come alive with your photography skills. I took me two or three try's before I got it the way I imagine. Play with the exposure if you are in a low light scenario and keep calm if is not going the way you want it. By the way I won the Instagram contest with this photo. ????????????
