For those about to rock....

I shoot a lot of local bands in surrounding towns and think it's incredibly important to support all local music. The variety is awesome and the talent can literally blow your mind! In doing so, it's provided me a chance to meet and get to know some pretty amazing people. One of the guys I met promotes shows in the area, he's a young dad and he wanted to do a show that was kid friendly. So we pooled our resources, booked the bands and rented an old hall that once was a church run- maintained by nuns. The kids had tons of activities like hoola hooping, face painting, and of course rock! As the kids congregated at the front of the stage I kept trying to get one of them to throw up the rock sign, not with much success. Then this adorable little girl looked right at me and I snapped this! I loved it. Eventually I posted the picture on my website and moved on to my next project. Weeks later I attended a party where Eric, the man playing guitar in back of her approached me. With a big grin he said, "I just wanted to thank you for that picture, that little girl is my daughter." I was floored I didn't even know that at the time I took it. Needless to say it makes this picture extra special to me and now it's hanging on his living room wall :)
