Makes me miss my horses instantly! We had a special bond that this photo captures very well! Most people don't realize that a horse is somewhat like a dog! They are big but very loving and smart! We had 6 but 2 were mine! Either would have sit in my lap if they could have! lol Anyways, you captured a perfect moment! I love the color as well! Just all around perfect!

Behind The Lens
Location
I took this picture while on a visit to my parent house in France. The river is at the bottom of a neighbouring field and is a great spot to cool off on a hot day, and this is my beautiful niece Sophie and her horse Tia.Time
This was taken in the mid afternoon on a hot day.Lighting
All natural lighting, although it was a hot day, there was still a bit of cloud in the sky.Equipment
This was taken on my trusty Canon 7D with a 50mm 1.8 lens. I love the 50mm, although it means more moving into position to capture the composition, the shallow depth of field really makes the image come to life. Hand held, I took the image while standing on a near by sandbank.Inspiration
I must have seen a shot like this somewhere before but cannot for the life of me remember where, and I had this idea in my head before taking the picture. This shot is one of the lucky few times that it turned out how I imagined it in my head. Even though I shot loads at the time, this is the one which stood out straight away when going through the editing stage.Editing
Bit of a crop to straighten the waterline, bring down the highlights a touch for the sky and boost the clarity a touch along with shadows to compensate the clarity. In my camera bag
Enough that my bag is starting to weigh a ton. Canon 7D, Sigma 18-250, Tamron 24-70, Canon 50mm, Sigma 10-20, 2 x Canon 430 ii flashes, wireless triggers, filters and such.Feedback
If you don't own a 50mm lens then I would highly recommend investing in one. I think if you ask anyone that owns one then they will tell you the same thing. Visualise the image in your head and they work along the shooting stage till you feel satisfied with the results. Keep on shooting.
