Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture at Grundy Lake in Ontario

Time

I was at the lake with my coffee & camera early morning - I could see the sun was rising over the trees and parts of the lake had morning mist on it still.

Lighting

The lighting was all about the sunrising just over the trees and with the swan it was magical.

Equipment

Handheld shot - I had my 105mm lens because I wanted to do some macro. I seen the swans and couldn't go back to change lenses and used what I had with me.

Inspiration

Pure beauty & the element of surprise. I was not expecting to see swans when I was walking to the lake that morning.

Editing

I did lighten the image and added some contrast.

In my camera bag

Usually my 70D Canon and I have 100-400mm lens, 18-135mm lens, 50mm lens & 105mm lens.

Feedback

All I can say that be ready for anything when it comes to nature. This was one of my favourite experiences so far. Maybe have more than one lens with you - be prepared.
