The Cactus garden in Kalimpong was started by an individual in the year 1972. The gentleman brought various Cactus plants from all over the world, created various environment controlled gardens to have various shapes, sizes and colour of Cactus grow. I was told that the gentleman died in the year 2000 is now looked after by his wife who has kept this exotic garden at its best. Kalimpong is a hill resort in Northern West Bengal falling under the district of Darjeeling. This small town is situated at 4,101 ft (1,250 meters) above sea level.
