El Santuario de Chimayo, built in 1813, is the site of "el pocito" the small pit of Holy Dirt which many people attribute as possessing remarkable healing powers. Prayer Room displays many ex-votos as well as photographs, discarded crutches, canes, & braces, along with testimonials of those purportedly healed here.
