South Falls at Silver Falls State Park near Silverton, Oregon. There is a path one can walk completely behind the falls and continue on to the other fantastic falls in this park.

Silver Creek starts as a trickle in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains of Oregon and eventually contributing to the Willamette River which feeds the Columbia River near Portland, Oregon. On it’s way, it has carved out numerous falls through the several layers of ancient volcanic lava flow.

I have not been there since I was a little girl, just as we re-experienced crater lake this last year, it is time to re-explore the home state. This photo makes you want to be there, especially on a hot day (if we get any,lol) and I love your description,we are planning to go up the clackamas past Estacada in July, the cascades are all in bloom with wild rhodies and huge white bear grass
