Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken when i was lost on a walk in north wales. The gate appeared to serve no purpose but fit so well into the scenery that i decided to shoot.

Time

The daylight was fading fast so it was around 7pm, the shadows where forming and it looked amazing.

Lighting

The image was shot in the moment, with no real thought on lighting, i loved the way the gate looked from where i was standing and shot...

Equipment

My trusty Canon 6D mk1 and 70-200 2.8is. No flash, no tripod, just a fleeting snap of something that caught my eye.

Inspiration

I was drawn to the gate and something said shoot, so thats exactly what i did.

Editing

I changed the image to monochrome to add a little more mystery, nothing more.

In my camera bag

Canon 6D mk1, 70-200 2.8is, 17-40L, 50 1.4 usm, sony A70 mk2, zeiss 35mm. Carbon tripod, memort cards, batteries etc. Oh and some sweets...

Feedback

If you like the look of it, shoot it. That has been my motto. Some shots are completely off the wall but when you look back at then they are amazing.
