On the northern slope of the Kozjak the remains of the Pre-Romanesque church of St. George of Putalj, can be found, which date back to the 9th century. The Church was built by count Mislav whilst count Trpimir donated it to the Split archbishop. Remains of the old building are immured into the current building.
