To me, this photograph is reminiscent of the glamour shots that movie studios took of their stars. Fabulous portrait!

Wondrous presentation. But, it is better and easier to know that they are just real people. Easier on them.

This photo was taken on location at Her Majesteas Salon - Heidelberg, Gauteng, South Africa. A beautiful venue set in a Victorian style look and feel.Time
The photo shoot was done indoors on the 30th of April 2014 at 02:10:30 PM as part of a series of photos taken that day.Lighting
I used a small beauty dish on JINBEI QQ-250 head which gives beautiful lighting especially for portraiture shots at a 45º angle downwards slightly to the left of the model. Set at half power as not to over expose the face.Equipment

I was busy doing a Tribute Shoot of the great Helmut Newton. Helmut Newton was a German-Australian photographer. He's work as a fashion photographer whose black-and-white photos were a mainstay of Vogue and other publications is a big inspiration!Editing

I pay the most attention to the model’s face especially the eyes and also the Lighting setup when doing these kind of close-ups. My advice would be not to overload your portraits with too many items, as a clean face is much better to work with.
