Behind The Lens

Location

Surprisingly, in a field just near my house

Time

It was in the morning, on a sunny day

Lighting

Just natural light. It was sunny and bright.

Equipment

Canon EOS 5D Mark III with a Sigma 180 F/2.8 Macro lens. I shot without any tripod and without flash.

Inspiration

I just loved the beautiful colors of this small insect and the particular texture of the eyes

Editing

Just enhanced some vividness to color and cropped a bit to recompose

In my camera bag

Usually I have my Canon EF500mm F/4.5 mounted for taking pictures of birds.

Feedback

Insects are very hard to photograph cause they rarely wait for you and macro photo requires a short short distance between you and your subject. Try to move as slowly as you can, crawl if needed and always be parallel to the subject of your picture.
