Wow I'm so excited. There is so much talent on this site so I really do appreciate my image being chosen. What a great start to the day, thank you every one..... This image I shot for a friend to experiment with light and also for her daughter to use on her album cover. Her name is Bonnie Ferguson an amazing young performer from Australia. Keep an eye out for her.

So beautiful! The motion adds a lot of drama and your use of complimentary colors is brilliant! Well deserved feature!

Location
Shot near Urunga, Australia. Mrs Paxtons farm.Time
Shot just before sunset. The clouds were becoming heavy and dark dramatising the atmosphere.Lighting
I usually always aim for late afternoon location shoots. Occasionally I'm blessed with storm clouds. Not always the choice for a family portrait. But that particular afternoon it was perfect timing for a dramatic "Bonnie" shoot.Equipment
Was taken a while ago. But from what I can remember Canon EOS mark 2.Inspiration
This was my first meeting with Bonnie Ferguson. A local singer, song writer and actress. I needed a model, she needed to add to her portfolio. She danced around the stormy clouds and I just captured her. Since this shoot we have explored many more locations and imagery styles.Editing
No filters, adjustment to the light and maybe contrast. Pretty much a straight image. I photoshopped out the power lines in another image which I did not upload on Viewbug. I wish I had of now.In my camera bag
Canon 5D mark 2. I would absolutely love the newest release, but will soldier on with the 5D for now. Canon 7D. Canon EF 70 to 200. 1:4 Sigma 85mm 1:1.4 Highly recommend this lense Canon 50mm 1:1.8 Canon 24 to 105mmFeedback
Just on sun down. As I stated before I was lucky enough to have the dramatic back drop of looming storm clouds. The immediate environment has an affect on the light and colour of your image. This image was shot in a cow paddock, close to mountains. It just all seemed to create the right light, atmosphere and feel. Bonnies mum "Kate" helped with makeup and Bonnies out fit, but to tell you the truth once Kate disapeared Bonnie relaxed and danced and swirled and we captured this. Love ya Kate :) Ask a friend, a dancer a performer if they would like to get creative. Find a location which suits your shoot, think about the wardrobe. Ask a make up artist a hair dresser, a stylist if they would like to get creative and just get out there and shoot. Bonnie and I did not use anyone else for help, besides her mum Kate. But if your surrounded by like minded people you can really capture something brilliant.
