Behind The Lens

Location

I was collecting data from rice fields at PhilRice Midsayap, Philippines and quickly noticed a wide expanse of dark clouds...

Time

I remember preparing early in the morning at 6:00 AM to avoid the heat of the sun while collecting data from rice trials.

Lighting

I wanted to capture and convey the wide expanse that the rain cloud covered so I took several frames form left to right about an hour after sunrise.

Equipment

This was taken with a Canon EOS 1000D with 18-55mm lens.

Inspiration

While being out on the rice fields evaluating rice trials, I am always on the lookout for abrupt changes in the weather to avoid digital gadgets getting wet. Abruptly looking up and around, I immediately noticed this cloud formation.

Editing

This was several shots stitched in photoshop, so as to convey the wide expanse that the rain cloud covered.

In my camera bag

Just the 1000D with the lens always attached 18-55mm.

Feedback

Moments like this are fleeting, one needs to be aware of abrupt changes in the weather..
