Behind The Lens

Location

Fountains Abbey, East Yorkshire

This photo was taken outside on a beautiful summers day. No extra lighting was needed.

Equipment

Nikon D7000 55-200mm lens

Inspiration

Spent a day taking photos at Fountains Abbey, East Yorkshire.

Editing

I cropped the original version of this image. With a duplicated layer I made a mirror image so that the image became symmetrical. I love the way the swan's necks create a heart like shape.

In my camera bag

Camera body, 18-55mm lens, 55-200mm lens, macro lens, portrait lens, spare batteries, external flash, spirit level, spare SD cards, tripod, monopod.

Feedback

Be patient when it comes to nature. Don't be afraid to get down low and have a good stable stance when hand held. Think about the direction and intensity of natural sun light and how it may effect the overall image. And try something new, you never know you might create a master piece!
